Bradbury Pianos

Bradbury pianos have a rich history dating back to 1854 when William Bradbury, a well-known hymn composer, partnered with Ferdinand Lighte and Henry J. Newton to form Lighte, Newton & Bradbury. After Newton left the partnership in 1858, it was reorganized as Lighte & Bradbury. In 1864, William Bradbury founded the Bradbury Piano Company, bringing Freeborn G. Smith on board as the general manager. Bradbury pianos became well-regarded, especially within religious and educational institutions, for their superior craftsmanship and quality. Initially focusing on square grand pianos, the company later expanded to include upright and player pianos, maintaining a reputation for excellence well into the 20th century.
