Is my family heirloom piano worth restoring?


That depends on the structural condition—primarily the soundboard, pinblock, and overall integrity of the piano. If those core components are solid, restoration can often produce an instrument that performs better than many new pianos. If not, I’ll be straightforward about your options.

What is included in a free piano restoration evaluation?


We evaluate the key structural and mechanical components of your piano, including the soundboard, action, plate, bridges, and tuning stability. The goal is to determine whether the piano is a good candidate for restoration and what level of work would be appropriate.

Can I send a picture of my piano for evaluation?


Yes! In many cases, I can give you a preliminary assessment based on photos—especially for identifying the make, age, and general condition. If I need more information I may ask for additional video footage of the piano.

How do I know if my piano has restoration value?


If the piano has family history or personal significance, that’s often the biggest factor. From a technical standpoint, we’re looking at whether the original structure can support a proper rebuild. When both come together—sentimental value and solid structure—that’s where restoration really makes sense.

Do all heirloom pianos qualify for restoration?

We can restore almost any piano! Some older pianos aren’t ideal candidates for restoration, but when the structure is solid, the results can be exceptional. In our piano shop, we focus on pianos that will respond well to restoration and provide beautiful, reliable performance for years to come.
