1933 Aeolian Autopiano – Fully Restored and Playing Like New

1933 Aeolian Autopiano – Fully Restored and Playing Like New

Brigham Larson Pianos

My shop just finished a beautiful heirloom vintage player piano rebuild! This 1933 Aeolian Autopiano player piano rebuild was for a client out of state, and I couldn’t be more excited to share the results. The piano arrived in need of a complete overhaul — not just a tune-up. Nearly a century old, it deserved to be brought back to its original glory, and I made sure every detail was handled with care.

We completely rebuilt the player mechanism with airtight bellows, new hoses, fresh seals, and precise calibration so it can play rolls smoothly and reliably for decades to come. It’s fascinating to see a fully mechanical player piano in action because these early players were brilliantly engineered without electronics! They only require air pressure, valves, and moving parts working together in perfect rhythm.

On the interior restoration of the piano we installed new strings, pins, hammers, dampers, hammer butts and shanks, felt, leather, and bridge caps, along with a fully refinished soundboard and plate.

On the exterior we stripped, refinished, and polished the case to bring out the beauty of its original veneer. The lighter tone matches the piano’s era and craftsmanship perfectly.

How We Handle National Piano Restoration Projects

A lot of people are surprised to learn that we do piano restoration work for families across the country—not just here in Utah.

If you have a family heirloom piano—like this 1933 Aeolian Autopiano—that’s been sitting untouched for years, or if you’ve inherited one from a grandparent and don’t know what to do with it, we can help. We regularly coordinate piano moving logistics to bring instruments to our shop from anywhere in the U.S.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Give us a call. We’ll talk through the piano’s condition and the family history behind it.

  2. We’ll arrange pick-up. Our team regularly runs nationwide piano transport routes and will schedule a pickup directly from your home.

  3. We restore your piano in our shop in Utah, keeping the original soundboard, bridges, and plate intact whenever possible.

  4. You get back a fully rebuilt heirloom—refinished, structurally sound, and musically alive again for the next generation.

Why Families Choose Us for Piano Restoration

I've been restoring pianos for decades—thousands of them. As a Registered Piano Technician and rebuilder, I recommend restoration if a piano has deep sentimental value—when it’s been in the family for generations, it’s worth doing right.

Aeolian Autopianos, for example, were built to last, with excellent materials and craftsmanship. Restoring them properly means honoring both the instrument and the family history behind it.

If you’re holding on to an heirloom piano and you’re wondering if restoration is the right next step, give us a call. We’ll help you figure it out—and if it’s worth saving, we’ll make it beautiful again.

📞 Call our piano shop, and we’ll get you scheduled for pickup. We’re regularly arranging piano moving and delivery routes around the nation.
