This 1982 Wurlitzer P-137 is a compact spinet piano that has been fully refurbished on the inside and refinished on the outside in a walnut cabinet.

Spinet pianos are designed to be space-efficient, making them easy to fit into smaller rooms, apartments, or multi-purpose living areas. This model serves that purpose well, with a compact footprint and a traditional furniture-style cabinet.

On the inside, this piano has gone through a full refurbishment process. That includes action servicing, regulation, alignment, and general mechanical work to bring it back to a consistent, playable condition. With spinets in particular, proper regulation is critical because of the more complex action design.

The cabinet has been refinished in walnut, giving it a warm, traditional appearance that works well in a variety of home settings.

From a performance standpoint, it’s important to set expectations appropriately. Spinet pianos have shorter strings and a smaller soundboard, so they don’t produce the same depth, power, or responsiveness as taller uprights or grands. That said, within its design, this piano is clean, functional, and suitable for home use.

What I like about this Wurlitzer P-137:

    • Compact spinet design — fits easily in smaller spaces
    • Fully refurbished for reliable basic performance
    • Warm walnut cabinet — traditional furniture look

As with every piano in my shop, it has gone through final prep—regulation refinement, voicing, and tuning to A-440—so it’s performing as well as it can within its design.
